Kofi Kinaata grew up in Takoradi and attended the Takoradi Technical Institude (TTI), where he studied Building and Construction. Kinaata was active in the music scene and began writing and recording music. In 2013, he joined High Grade Family a record label, led by reggae artiste Samini.
