I’m going to take you through a list of Ghanaian celebrities who have been in jail and the crime that took them there.
Because of glitz and Glamour that comes being a star or celebrity makes a lot of celebrities think that they are superior than the laws governing the country.
Just like how criminals and ordinary Ghanaians, a celebrity can be also put before the court to face his or her action if caught doing the wrong.
Here are some list of Ghanaian Celebrities who have been behind bars.
KWAW KESSE
Ghanaian rapper Emmanuel Kofi Botwe, better known in the entertainment fraternity as Kwaw Kesse was arrested on November 22, 2014 at a popular drinking pub (Plus Two drinking spot) in Kumasi for smoking cannabis
Kwaw Kesse was was sentenced a day in prison and was asked to pay a fined of 1,200 cedis after he was been remand over a 1 month.
MEDIKAL
Ghanaian hip hop star Samuel Adu Frimpong, who is known as Medikal was arrested after he posted video of himself holding a Ruger 9mm gun on Snapchat on September 2021.
He was arrested a month later on October 21, 2021 after the video caught fire on social media and was handed to the Regional Criminal Investigation.
AKUAPEM POLOO
Ghanaian social media sensation and actress Rosemond Brown, known by many as Akuapem Poloo was sentenced to 90 days imprisonment after she was charged with publication of obscene material and domestic violence on April 16, 2021
This happened when she took a naked picture with her seven year – old boy and posted on June 30, 2020 on his birthday.
SHATTA WALE
Ghanaian self_acclaimed dancehall/Reggae artiste Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., better known in the entertainment circle as Shatta Wale was arrested for faking reports that, he had being shoot by an unknown gunmen on Monday October 18, 2021 after a prophet said he was going to be shoot by an unknown gunmen.
