The Asankragwa District Magistrate Court presided over by His Worship Augustine Fiifi Donful has remanded a 47-year-old six-teacher who doubles as the assistant head teacher for Victory Educational Complex at Wasa Dunkwa into police custody for allegedly defiling two children.

The teacher now suspects, identified as Kwame Tandoh according to Prosecutor Chief Inspector Appiah Bimpong on …… April 2022 around 7:30 pm at his residence at Wassa Dunkwa called one of the victims, a 12 -year-old class four pupil at Wassa-Dunkwa Anglican Basic school who was passing by his house and asked her to call her friend the second victim.

Chief Inspector Appiah Bimpong explained in court that, the second victim also a class four pupil at Benkah international school and 11-year-old was subsequently called by the first victim upon arrival, the suspect lured the victim into a plantain farm and had sexual intercourse with them.


The prosecutor further narrated to the court that suspect Kwame Tandoh after having sexual intercourse with the victims gave them 10 cedis each and threatened them not to tell anybody, later he met the sister of the first victim and tried to lure her into having sexual intercourse with her but she refused and reported the suspect to her grandmother.

On April 20th, 2022, the grandmother of the first victim met with the father of the second victim and told him what her granddaughter had told her, the two victims were questioned and they confirmed being defiled by the suspect.

The suspect was taken to the police station with the aid of some youth in the community, the suspect admitted to committing the offense at the police station.

Chief Inspector Appiah Bimpong pleaded with the court to remand the suspect for the prosecution to gather more information.

The case has been adjourned to May 5th, 2022
